hi,

I have a two questions :p

is it possible to built a Gameboy Advance sp battery in a gameboy pocket?
And is there a way to charge it without a gameboy sp?

Yes you can.

3.7V is fine for the GB Pocket. You can fit it inside by removing the battery compartment (keeping the cover), and removing two larger unnecessary capacitors (they won't be needed considering the stability of the 3.7V GBASP Battery).

As for charging without a GBASP, yes, but I don't know off-hand how to make a charging circuit for it.

Yeah, it is possible, and I've done it, actually. I've heard the GBP can actually be run from a bit higher than 3.3v, up to 5v and still be fine.

As for charging, I used an old GBASP with the backlight taken out and a cracked screen. There is 3.7v li-ion battery charging chip. I can't think of what it's called at the moment, though.

EDIT: Here's the post I made about it:
