DVI-I and DVI-D question

OK- So I thought I nearly had it, but I stupidly forgot that HDMI is digital only and dropped the analog support.
Here's how things went

bought HDMI to DVI-D adaptor
plugged HDMI into PS3
plugged DVI-D into LCD controller board
turned it all on, no video.

After a little diagnosis I figured out that the controleer board is only going to support DVI-I and not just D. ARG.
So, I ask- Is there a simple way to fix this? An adapter would be great, but I'm willing to cut and splice if necessary.

Nope. No simple way to fix that.

Why can't you use component out to dvi. That is analog.
