Does anyone have good driver locators?

You know, the one you run on your laptop and seeks out hardware and downloads drivers automatically. I'm getting swamped installing hardware on a Toshiba Satellite L300D laptop.

If all else fails, you could visit the website of the company who made your hardware. More than likely they'll have the necessary drivers you need, unless your hardware's 15 years old.

I was thinking more along the lines of gamepads, printers, scanners, etc. That's basically the only kind of hardware you can install on a laptop, after all.

I think he might be looking for drivers for the laptop, itself.

If you're trying to find drivers for xp, then good luck.

Big bump, I know but I fixed this already. I installed Win7 because it autodetects hardware then I listed all the devices and downloaded the matching drivers for Vista. Then I pulled out 7 and loaded Vista and the drivers.

Keep in mind this is for my dad, it does not need to be a speedy machine (used for emailing and word proc.) and I don't want to deal with the expiration of Win7 when it comes.
