Composite to component or vga

There has to be some cheap way besides a capture card to get older systems to play on an hdtv.

Anything I find is near or way over $100

There has to be a cheaper way.

Thanks X, finding an rgb to component shouldn't be very hard, in case I need that, but the vga one should do just fine. Thanks!

The first review says it doesn't work with 8/16 bit consoles. Kind of rules it out for me. Has anyone here actually tried it?

I might be missing the point, but does the DX one convert composite signals to VGA? Because I've been looking for a cheap one.
