Compaq nc6220 driver problems

Basically, I installed every nc6220 wireless driver and modem driver and the internet still doesn't work and there's no lil wireless manager thing. WinXP Professional SP3. Any help?

Windows XP has its own built-in wireless manager. Make sure the Wireless Zero Configuration service is running.

(OEM "helper" apps are all rubbish anyway...)

Is the wireless turned on? Some laptops have a hardware or BIOS option. Also, check the device manager and see if the wireless adapter shows up in it.

You should try to updating the BIOS. You should update wireless drivers in you Compaq nc6220. If your wireless card are not working properly then try to replace the wireless card. You should also check your wireless configuration service running or not.

I'm actually not sure if this guy is a spambot or just had bad englishs.

Look at the sig. It's one of those spambots that copies vaguely related replies off Yahoo Answers.
