Cheap batteries for GCP?

Hello everybody, currently I am working on a Gamecube Portable, and am in need of some batteries that will last me at least 45 minutes (That's like a super minimum!)
I need them to power my trusty eBay "Rearview" screen (12v), my gamecube rev A (12v), and some other things (probably mostly 5v). I know that on modretro you shouldn't be "Spoon Fed", but if I can also get help on finding a speaker, and how to solder it to the board, that would be great!

I would like to thank everybody on the ModRetro Forums ( Ashen, Tchay, SS, etc) for all I their hard work and effort, and for their great guides as well!

When I first saw tchays Ccube, I was gasping for breath just watching it sit there in its glory. The glossy finish, an indigo tribute, and a design that looked like an original gameboy. I was engulfed in this portable, and would specifically like to thank tchay for building this portable and inspiring me to create one as well. :awesome:

I am tired for typing at around 25 minutes now, so that's all for now, any suggestions will be greatly appreciated !

I suggest reading all the stickies and their respective links in the general modding forum. That's what I did. . . really. . . I mean it, read all of it. Also, it helped me generate some ideas on how to mod by reading through people's worklogs

I also recommend using the made-by-bacteria forum, the modding reference section there was also very helpful

Thank you Sneak Attack, for the links and for recommending the Made by bacteria forums, and I have been reading a few worklogs for help. Thanks for the suggestions!

Well I never managed to get a full discharge out of them before I shorted and fried them, but THESE GUYS did have my GC up and running.
Yeah, i was reading your worklog for your 3rd attempt. I have a similar screen as you do (Cheap Chineese), but mine came with a stand as it was for a car. I know that it said to use 12 volts, but i see that you used 5 volts. Right now I am powering it with an old 12v wireless router adapter and it works fine. I looked into the nikon batteries, but are just a little "Out of Budget". Thanks for the suggestion!

Looks like those would work fine, You just need to find a PCB that would support 3 batteries instead of 4. Are you using the original regulator or a custom reg? The 11.1v might not power the original regulator for very long as the cutoff is 10v. If you are using the custom regs, It would work fine. Some of the energy would be lost to heat but It should work.
