Charger port and AC adapter port for GCp?

Hi guys, lurker here. I've been confused about something and google isn't helping me, so here I am. The ports I'm referring to are the ones mentioned in SS's charge and play diagram http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g166/ShockSlayer/yup.png
I'm confused as to what exactly is to be used there.

Does it matter which one?
And if it's the first one, how would you go about wiring that?

Assuming your power plug is a size M then either of those work. The first one should have a solder cup on that metal piece sticking out of the back and you just place your wire in there and solder it. Solder cups are actually a bit easier to deal with than the like...wire through-hole sort of thing that is usually done, in my opinion.

Just one more question for now.

So I have a gamecube with a rev C motherboard and I'm just going to use the onboard regulator rather than build the custom one. So with that first size m port, would pretty much any 12v adapter work with it to run the gamecube off wall power? (not charge the batteries)

Or would it require a special type charger?

I'm not sure of the exact dimensions of a Size M jack. But worst case scenario you can just cut off the end and solder a size M plug on there.
