Would this trimmed heatsink work for 12+ gameplay? Because i want to use it for melee smashfests.

Took that pic from SonyQrios microgamecube.
i would do the trim but i would use the original gamecube fan. Would that work for a high amount of time like that? If not, which heatsink would u suggest?

12+ hours of game play on a portable? Are you using wall power for this or internal batteries??

I believe that the stock fan on the GameCube runs on 12v so just know that if you give it less voltage the fan obviously will run slower, thus not cooling as well. The stock heatsink can cool pretty well as long as you don't chop too much off of it.

If you are planning on putting a 5v regulator in the portable for rumble, you could pick up a 5v, 50mm x 50mm fan (which is the same size as the stock GC fan) that would run at full speed all the time.

Or if you are planning on internal batteries you could use 11.1v ones that should run the stock fan just fine.

No i will play off wall power when we play 12+. So i can use the nornal fan at 12v? I wont chop of much of the heatsink. Just enough that the fan fits in it. Do u know how much turns per minute the stock fan at 12 v has? Maybe i find one with more

what voltage battery? 7.4v, 11.1?v if you plan on putting a 5v regulator in for rumble function then you can get a 5v fan and not worry about it. If will always spin the same speed regardless of whether you use wall power or internal battery. That's what I'm using in mine for that reason.

The stock fan will run off of 7.4v but at a reduced speed. If you plan on playing for long periods off a battery that's not 11.1-14.8v using the stock fan, then you may have cooling issues using the stock fan.
