BBA Teardown?

I'm building a "Gamecube Mini" of sorts- basically just a gamecube with an integrated 2043 block memcard in slot A that uses a WKF with swiss autoboot, and uses USB ports on the front for controllers (to be used in conjunction with adapter cables I'm making) or for charging devices (since the controllers already use 5V anyway). I'm considering including a BBA in the device for network connectivity, but only if I can slim it down enough. Can I wire an RJ-45 jack directly to the place on the mobo where the serial port was, or is there actual hardware in the BBA? How small is the BBA's board when it's opened? Has anyone done a teardown of a BBA?

I'm also still not sure if I should include Slot-B or just turn it into an SD Gecko only port. I'm thinking I'll include it so you can copy your saves onto the device, and since I won't be doing any motherboard cutting this time around (since it's my first project), so it won't be as slim as it necessarily could be- just very slim (a bit smaller than a first gen apple tv).

I also still need to make a case. Does anyone know of a good site that will do CNC work?

Hm, I think it's very likely there's plenty of circuitry inside the BBA since the GameCube's port is just labeled "serial" and it doesn't look like there's much on the mobo that would allow internet connectivity. I can't find any pictures for you, nor have I ever owned one of those, so I guess I'm not much help :neutral2:.

I'd contact downing about getting a case made. He does cnc, vac forming, and 3d printing for a lot of this communities' projects.
