6v to 3v

So i cannot, for the life of me remember this part from my circuits class last year. I have a 6v power source (DMG) and a led that needs 3v to light up. I know that if i put 6v through it it'll ruin it. SO my question is, what resistors/other junk do i need to put into the circuit so that I can wire it up.

ish i don't understand why you don't just tell people it's el wire, lol.

i think we got this figured out in chat.

Short answer- no.

Long answer- you can sort of do it with resistors, but it's generally not a good idea unless your screen has a wide input voltage latitude.
