3 questions for gamecube portable. Power, casing and control

I have started my own gamecube portable project and have some very nubie questions.
I have seen ShockSlayer's plug and play diagram with dpdt switch.
I was wondering what the 7.4v ac mean and what the different switch positions do.
Also do i need to hook up a power switch?

Secondly, I am thinking of using a wii housing for casing and adding plastic parts using bondo.
Is that a good idea?

Lastly, I want to make a dpdt switch to control using either internal or external switch.
If I hook up 3.4v and 5v on the switches, would that allow me to choose between the two?

7.4v DC is the power going into the system. The switch turns the GC on/off.

Use epoxy to bond the plastic parts into the case.

This is worded terribly, but I think you are talking about internal and external controllers and switching between the two?

All you need to do is put a SPDT switch on the dataline to controller 1.

That's talking about an AC adapter such as a wall wart, or a psone screen power supply. AC, or alternating current, is what comes out of the wall outlets in your home. Devices require a consistent power source, otherwise known as DC current. The adapter takes the alternating current and out puts direct current.

In that diagram where it says "7.2v AC" that's where you connect the positive pole of the power jack to the switch.

I have another question to ask. I want to make my gamecube to have a built in screen and a display out plug so that i can hook it up to a tv. How do i wire them to dpdt, so i can switch from built screen to the video Plug?

Quoted for the lulz, spongebob games? REALLY? These people need to pick a better target market... maybe all the MLP:FIM on the site made them think we're young children.

Also, fake sig, FTW.

You can just wire video and audio to both the port and the screen. If you really want to switch between them, I'm no expert, but in theory, if you use a three-pole dual-throw switch, you can do this.

Re: 3 questions for gamecube portable. Power, casing and con

Yeah im pretty sure it not using a switch will still make it appear on the screen though, it will just split the signal. You need a switch if you want it on just the tv, or switched to just the screen. Shockslayers 11th n64p split signal i remember. It doesnt effect it much at all.

Re: 3 questions for gamecube portable. Power, casing and con

Just split the signal and have a switch to turn off the internal screen.

Re: 3 questions for gamecube portable. Power, casing and con

If you split the signal it will be darker on the TV screen. Maybe darker than you'd like. Just try and see.
