3.5" screen MUST SLEEP after unplugging cable to board

NOTE, if you unplug the cable to the controller board of this 3.5" screen, the video will stop working temporarily. You will get a white blank screen. Don't freak out. Simply unplug power to the board, let it sit for 5 minutes, and then plug the cable back in to screen. You must plug the cable back in BEFORE turning on the screen again. Then you should get your video back.

Do those screens have any brightness or contrast control? I'm wondering if they at least have solder pads on the board
