I did the OMGWTF cut. THEN I used the dremel to sand off the edge seen below.
But now have a voltage issue on the 3.43v layer.
Note that my board is CPU-11 with a 4 pin crystal, not 2 pin. (I did not cut any traces of the crystal)
I have narrowed down the problem to the 3.43v layer. Whenever I connect 3.43v to this layer, the gamecube turns off.
Oddly, I can give that layer 1.9v and (and the other layers 1.9v) and it does not shut off, but with 3.43v it DOES shut off. BUT, I checked, and the 1.9v layer has NOT bridged with the 3.43v (as I checked with a multimeter leaving the 3.43v left alone, it just shows 0.0 volts). This also means that the layer has not bridged with ground either (as 1.9v would have shorted). Depending on where I put the 1.9v, I can get both chips to heat up. But 3.43v makes it short out...
Honestly, I'm at a loss. I have sanded the heck out of the edges of the board and blown all over the board to look for shorting. I have everything wired up to this board, which is why i REALLY don't wanna restart on another board. Any ideas? thx.
