    DMG questions

its alright now, I know where to get the chips, nonelectronics do 74hc86 chips that they said would be okay. so, I dug a little deeper and I think that you have to invert the gameboy with the chip and invert it as well with the rear polarizer, am I right?

    DMG questions

so I recently acquired a yellow DMG that I'd like to do some modding to, but I first have some general questions. I've seen quite a lot of biverted gameboys on 8 bit collective, and I'd like to have a go at it, I'm pretty decent at soldering. 1)where can I get a 74hc04 chips from? 2)do you still...

I'm not doing that! I'll probably have to cut out R, L, Z and start and a bit more off the cart slot and force the wood through, that way I can probably still use the mold(with the aid of wood filler) again.

heres the back-vac formed, its still got the wood in-which I canr get out!

so heres the back of the case, only in mold stage. and the side peices that go in the gaps to add extra comfort when playing: so, I only need to add the cartridge mold on top and then I'll vacuum form it.

Oh right I get you now! I just want to make a cool portable! so did some experimenting today and I'll be using wooden dowels and countersunk screws even if they may not look so good on the front of my case, just want it to be held together strong :ninj:

I was just annoyed that I posted the pic and you could say was that I was doing wrong, or not in the style of everyone else, I posted it not to get abuse about which is better, but because I wanted you to like it. And from the way you said all that, I'm presuming you don't like it at all.

I've seen all of them from the past year and the ones I've seen from beginner modders are not well made or pleasing to the eye. But, when made well they look really good, I'm not knocking them, or trying to start some argument over which is better, only trying to say which one I like better...

I'll have to be disagreeing with hailrazer-I like the way vac formed cases come out. yeh at my college they have glue thats welds plastic together  and anyway from what I've seen of franken-modded cases only about 10% are any good and as a bid to line my protables edges up nicely, I...

The only reason i added the circular parts is because the joystick would'nt fit in without it. I'm sort of going for a more symplistic look rather than making it two tone. seriously, vac forming is so easy, theres really no excuse for people to be making custom cases. I just saw bentomos n64...

    bentomo's N64P 2.0 WIP Starlight 64 update 12/05/09 *56K*

Re: bentomo's N64P 2.0 WIP Starlight 64 pics video pg 8 I love the effect you achieved with all the sparkly bits and the original button sliders! I'd really like to see it finished.

I did'nt think it was ingenious-it was just what was the best to get it cut out out the fastest on the CAD machine at college. The case that formed looks super pofessional, so it was'nt wasted effort not to just get a ZN whatever case. so this is it: 2mm thermoplastic(not styrene, can't...

I've heard that before by my friend, it does'nt look like that when I cut the buttons out though. normally on these on these forums I've seen that people are amazing at the electronics side and the soldering side of portabalising, but it appears I'm the opposite, I absolutely suck at it so your...
