No it does not. I've measured 16v past the very first regulator but none after that. Here are some photos... Sorry they do not look that great, I had to take them with my phone. Let me know if they show up or not
Hey guys, another Wii question...
What is this highest voltage that the Wii can take? I swapped a newer board into my laptop project (confirmed working before I desoldered the ports) and the LED will not turn on. I haven't trimmed it at all and it doesn't look like anything is shorted. However...
Very interesting, but has it been done before? No seriously though I don't think a fan will work unless it blows out the side. I'm looking more at something such as the old VGA coolers or cheap low profile CPU coolers. But if both of those options seem like overkill I think I can go the...
Alright so if I plan go getting a newer board, what are some good cooling options? Also, about how much power does the new boards consume vs the old ones? Thanks!
Unfortunately I have the first revision with the larger chipset. I am currently looking at getting a newer board but I won't look forward to having to rip off those ports again. I know the first revision produces more heat and consumes more power so I'm hoping the newer board will save some...
Hi all,
I've been working on (and am very close to finishing) a Wii laptop and will probably make a post when I'm done. But right now though, I am having some trouble figuring out what type of cooler I can use to cool the Wii. As of now I am using the stock cooler cut down about a 1/4 inch lower...
Okay thanks I'll check tomorrow. Just wanted to make sure before going ahead and buying another
EDIT: I do have a FAT32 SD card in, it was confirmed working but I had to tidy up wires and ended up removing some lol
Don't want to hijack the thread or anything but didn't want to start another wasp one. Just wanted to ask mega, I have my wasp wired and everything worked before, but now the led doesn't turn on at all and in the menu the GC says it can't read disk. Is the Wasp fried?
I'm have no clue how bad that would be, Mega just said that around 430 is enough to melt the solder but keep it solid enough to bridge the connections. I just used wire between the Megadrive and the filters, nothing really worked for me to bridge the connections
I don't really need them built, it's just last time I checked those regs are expensive! Wish TI still did samples on them  so im just lookin if anyone here has any cheaper
