note that the kds0114 won't be labeled the same as this is meant for gameboy advance and gameboy colours run on an 8.something mhz to begin with but the switch will still function the same way.

the best bet is it shorted out, or the fuse is blown. Other than that some of the traces could be *Can'tSayThisOnTV*ed up but i doubt that. open it up and get a look for it.

Good luck with this i think 50 plus shipping would be reasonable, i think i saw one on craigslist for around 50.
