now on a good note i would like to say i love your design and i cant wait to see the final unit! ^_^ also the tilt of the screen is really personal prefrence. i for one like a no tilt screen for the nes. The tilt also depends on if this is a bartop cabinet or a standing cabinet. if it is a bartop then i would suggest a little tilt because it is easier to see.
To be fair, I just took the idea from some other guy's project and modified it, but don't tell anyone.
This will be a bartop/tabletop unit (so I can 'easily' move it from house to house or future dorm room if need be). Using my laptop as a rough estimate, I think I've decided on having the NESArcade screen titled at about 105 degrees from the X axis. I'm also considering having a clear piece of fiberglass or something at 90 degrees to support the cart storage area. Good idea?
By the way, care to share more about your project?
well after looking at the intructables page i must say my cabinet isnt going to be as cool looking but serve the same purpose. I have a old composite tv, a superjoy, and some extra wood so i figured i would make a standup arcade nes cabinet to put in my new apartment. its really a simple design, im just soldering arcade controls to the controllers of the sj3 
and connecting that to the tv. Also im adding a famicon to nes converter so i can still play my nes games
