Wiring a different stick to a genuine controller?

I was wondering if it was possible to wire a different stick, such as the PSP stick or Xbox, to a genuine N64 controller?

The stock analog on those are absolutely horrible, but it's super easy to swap out the stick since it's a surface-mount potentiometer, rather than whatever optical sensory crap is on the 1st party n64 stuff. You have higher compatibility that way as well (xbox, gcn, ps1/2 would all work). good luck!

I recommend the tommee controller from stoneagegamer.com. It has an amazing analog stick.
