I think it's because somewhere along the line, in like... 2000... Yellow and black became the standard colors for electronics that are hard to break. I blame Motorola.

Quick question, what did you use for the spacer? This is one of my favorite N64 portables, by the way. Amazing job!!!!

I used styrene.. heated it gently to bend it and form it into place (then used hobby super glue to glue it in place).
