Question About Flux

I'm having some trouble finding the right flux... Theres normal, theres water soluble, and something else, probably others. Which one is best for wiring wires to circuits? Also which brand is best?
Thanks.

Avoid water soluble, because though washable it's corrosive and tends to corrode circuit boards over time. Avoid no-clean, because it's pretty weak. Rosin activated (RA) or rosin mildly activated (RMA) should be fine. You should clean those, but for most purposes you can get away without it.

As for brands, stay away from shady Chinese no-name stuff, but any actual brand (Kester and MG Chemicals are the only ones I can think of at the moment) should be fine.

Maybe it goes without saying, but don't even think about using acid flux made for non-electronic purposes like plumbing or stained glass. They will utterly destroy your circuit boards.
