Li-ion batteries

Update - after finding out that UK standards require charge protection to be included in chargers I've yet again changed what type of battery to use and decided to go for the Li-ion batteries I do have a few questions though

1. Why are they so expensive? is it the lithium?

2. The best I found was an 11.1 V, 2250mAh pack for £36.63, it doesn't come with a charger so I'd have to buy that separately.

a. is the capacity or do you think I need 2 packs to make it up to 4500mAh.

b. Is there a cheaper source for batteries (this is the one I'm talking about http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/lithium-r ... s/7760866/). would it be cheaper to take batteries from something like a broken phone.

c. Roughly how much should I be paying for batteries

3. say I have an 11.1V pack made up of 3 3.7v cells, does that mean I charge them using a 3.7v charger, 3 3.7v chargers or a 11.1v charger.

4. As an interesting note, would Li-Po batteries be usable, are they any cheaper. if they're cheaper or usable is there any advantage to using Li-ion instead
