GameCube portable memory card?

So I got my wasp fusion in the mail today and I have already finished the rest of the GameCube portable build. But I am not sure if I have enough room to add a memory card slot for a memory card, so my question is, is there any way you can use the SD card used for the wasp fusion as the memory card. I notice that when I play a game using the wasp it says there is no memory card because I don't have one plugged in. Is there anyway around this other than including a memory card slot??? Pls help.

No, the only way is by using a memory card. By the way you don't need to include a whole slot, you can just directly solder the memory card (just the PCB, without the plastic case) to the motherboard of your GameCube.
