Controller Ports/Board

Hey guys, does anyone know if I could solder the controller ports directly to the GameCube main board without first going through the controller board? I've directly wired one controller straight to the main board, not using the controller board, but would this be possible with all four? I've already desoldered all of the ports from the controller board and would like to solder directly from the 6 pins of each port to the main board. If so can anyone help me going about doing this? Thanks!

Yes, you can, just have to follow the pinout for it. Technically the controller port board is just a jumper for everything.

Could you cut up the board so all the ports are in separate pieces?

You're looking for the diagrams here: viewtopic.php?f=36&t=6476

Should be pretty simple to do, each controller needs 5V, 3.3V, a data signal corresponding to that port (ex: P1 data), and ground (not sure if you need to connect both of them though).
