Downing's SG-N64p Featuring The Legend of Zelda: OOT

Ah Dang, that controller board would have been absolutely perfect! My last build was a very tidy build on the outside, but was a bit compacted inside; I used a home made vacuum formed case for it. This time, I aim to build the board and get all the internal components compiled/ constructed...

Downing's SG-N64p Featuring The Legend of Zelda: OOT

Fantastic build; the tidy internals are quite inspirational! Well, I'm looking to attempt my N64p V3; original name. . . I know  I'm going to use some bits from my V2 and try and build it as tidy, small and professional as possible. I have access to a very good 3d printer, and will be...

    N64 picture quality

Beaten me too it, but if you have an NTSC console, you can get S-Video. Us Pal guys don't have that option sadly. But it should sort the picture out massively.

    First Portable N64 <3

Lol, they're not that bad. Of all the ones I have done now, the picture has been clear with no real bright spots. But I am going 5" ebay screen on my new one. I have tried to research it to ensure the video isn't skewed, but there isn't much info. I have just seen an image of one being used...

    First Portable N64 <3

Psone screens aren't too bad, but need alot of trimming to make them acceptable. All the info is out there though, and you can 3 sides behind the screen itself, and one sticking out a tiny bit, all very easily. And secondly, that first screen isn't dead. If you were thinking of using the...

Cartridge slot relocation and screen question.

Afternoon gents and gentess', I'm looking at making my third N64p. This time round better than ever. My first was a good effort, small, worked but flawed. The second was very good, basically a replica of Loctronics latest N64p. With a few relocations. Well, this time round, I am going to plan...

    N64 and LCD Screen

Awesome project! If your successful in making massvely simplified and reduced size boards, you will revolutionalise N64 portabilising. If your successful, I would love to be on the list for one of these boards. Nick

    1st party controller cut.

As a side question, can I simply remove the chip. reconnect all the grounds and vcc's. Contect the oscillator, and away I go? Also, final question, the capacitors and smd's sitting around the joystick connector, can they be bypassed and ignored from anyones experience? Many thanks once again Nick

    1st party controller cut.

Evening all, I'm approaching completion on my 2nd portable. Now, its looking rather good so far, but I need to cut the official nintendo controller down to absolutely as small as possible. I'm not using the expansion pack, so that is all going to be cut out, but I need to know how small I can...

    N64 board bending help

You need to reconnect the 3.3v line to the correct pins. Also the 12v line. and I would imagine ground aswell. If you look at the RCP wiring diagram in the megasticky, it shows which pins do what. ensure you connect your power lines to the right places, or you'll brick your board.

Removed the U8 and now she's dead.

Akira, Zenloc directed me to your work on SS forums and I think I may have found the problem. When I cut away the bottom, I have taken with it some of the SMD's. I was going to try your 750ohm trick on the two points to see if this revived it. Here are the pics anyway. Thanks for any...

Removed the U8 and now she's dead.

Evening all, So, I'm right towards the end of completing this portable, its looking great, everything was working perfect, and then disaster. I needed to remove the U8 to get optimal fitment. After being advised it was fine, I removed it, and bridged the pif pins for each controller port. I...

    Removing U8.

Can somebody give me confirmation that the U8 can be removed and controller one simply wired to the two lower pins on the Pif? Can anyone confirm this to work with no issues? Many thanks Nick

Super mega finalized awesome AUDIO AMP DIAGRAM!

Quick question, After examining both diagrams in this thread, is the 10uF capacitor used in Bentomo's diagram an electrolytic capacitor? It is not marked up as such, but, in the subsequent TI diagram it notes at the bottom, that the 10uF is to be an electrolytic. Also, talking of the...

    Another audio problem.

Evening all, First of all, I hate PS one screens. Such a pain in the arse. But here it goes, this is my second portable and the onboard audio is being a colossal pain again. Basically, sound is only coming through on speaker output. Even more annoyingly, it is doing this WITHOUT the...

    Second64

Good work! I actually quite like the joystick, I think what would look rather cool, would be to find/ design some sort of rubber gaitor to go around it. Kind of like you would find on a gear stick. (Stick shift/ manual as those over the pond may know it?)
