    Thank you guys for all the fast replies! I'm always painting in my office at work. The temperature there is always between 20 C and 22 C. (The painting instructions advice more than 10 C) After reading carefully all the instructions, I realised that it can take up to 1 week for maximum paint...

    I've used a 24 awg and didnt have any problems. I really dont think the gage of the wire is the problem here.
