Make sure your 7808 has a heatsink on it. It's a linear regulator, so all the energy it is taking out and that is not the 8v it is sending through, it loses as heat. That heat will pretty much destroy your regulator. Also make sure you've got the GPU on your Gamecube heatsink'd.

Unless you consider exposure to bondo and fiberglass drugs, then nothing with drugs at all. Unfortunately for part of it I forgot to wear my respirator and so hopefully I live. :P
