    wanted: tiny rumble motors.

I have one from a Pandora Pro USB gamepad, and I might be able to salvage one from a pager (not likely). Hopefully there isn't too much variety in tiny vibration motors and mine will more or less match someone else's. Here's a poorly-lit photo for reference:

    mY n6-D fore portabel

Good work so far! Love the clean casework. Just a few suggestions: I would use D batteries instead of AA's, because their higher voltage will let you play longer and more efficiently. Better yet, lantern batteries! And remember, larger cases are more comfortable to hold, so don't be afraid to...

    YAY PERIPHERALS!

I traded a game (don't remember which one) for an IBM Model M from someone who took six or seven unused ones from his old workplace. Manufactured 22 and a half years ago, and it still works perfectly. So if you want a well-built keyboard that will keep working for at least a few decades, you can...

    N64 Clock

Ah, alright. I did remember marshallh's flashcart thread when I was writing that post, and how I couldn't comprehend a single word of it... in any case, I'm sure he has better things to do with all of that technical knowledge (besides stealing names).

    N64 Clock

That second post of mine was just an overblown, sarcastic way of acknowledging that, on second thought, my original idea would be really impractical to implement in real life. Hence the :dah:. But I'm not all that good at conveying my actual intent over the cybertubes. If my experience with...

    N64 Clock

I still think it would be a cool idea if it didn't involve soldering/routing all those wires through such a small space. It just wouldn't be worth the time and effort, especially for something as simple as a clock. As for a clock cartridge that displayed the time on a TV, I have no idea how...

    N64 Clock

Well, maybe designing convoluted, impractical wastes of space just happens to be a hobby of mine. Maybe you guys should be a little more considerate of that before you go and wreck my pride like the amoral savages you are. Now I'll have to go hide in my poorly-thought-out underground bunker so...

    DIY xbox 360 Headset.

I'm pretty sure you can just buy 3.5mm-2.5mm adapters, but this is more elegant and didn't cost you anything, so nice job.

    N64 Clock

Maybe you could have a clock cartridge with passthrough wires to a cartridge slot on the top so you could leave the clock in permanently and put in games whenever you wanted to. It would be like a GameShark, but you probably wouldn't want to destroy one of those, so you could just chop off the...

    N64 Batteries

Even 1000mAh or 1Ah (that's what you meant, right?) won't power it for long -- maybe 30-45 minutes. It'll work with regulators, but I'd recommend getting something with higher capacity, preferably Li-ion.

    Li-ION laptop battery

That's just the wordfilter for a certain synonym of "excrement". As for flux, it's used in soldering to help the solder flow and adhere to joints, but that's not what you were talking about. Neither of them are expensive, in case you were still wondering.

Playing and charging with smart chargers?

BatterySpace has 3.7V smart chargers that put out 3A and 6A. I know the 64boy and most other portables (N64, at least) run off of 7.4V, but if you had one that instead used 3.7V batteries hooked up to a step-up regulator, wouldn't it be able to play and charge from one of those chargers? I've...

Re: Replacing Analogue Stick? Ah, Dang. I remembered seeing a better one on here somewhere, but didn't bother to take more than a cursory look at the mega-sticky (that's where I got the second link from). My apologies, and yeah, use that one.

Re: Replacing Analogue Stick? First off, you'll need a third-party controller (Yobo, Retrobit, etc.) before you do anything to the analog stick. The first-party one uses some sort of optomechanical system, like a ball mouse, that isn't compatible with the pots used in every other controller I'm...

Does a 7805's dropout voltage change with adjusted output?

I just tested this with 7.5v and 9v, using 100Ω for R2 as suggested. The voltage dropped from about 6.4v with the 9v source to about 6v with the 7.5v source. It might be worth trying if you can afford to undervolt a little.

When do you guys start school?

I don't like it either, but I guess I'm just too busy playing some gay-ass drums to be sexing people all the time. If only I could be like you. (Also, you're surprised that a website about modding video game consoles has a bunch of nerds on it? Seriously?) (Also, I'm not looking forward to...

When do you guys start school?

I start on the 24th. Band camp starts on the 16th, which is also conveniently my birthday.

So I got some NPN and PNP transistors.

Do you have six 1.5-volt batteries (AA, AAA, C, D, etc.) that you could rig up in series? Because that would work, too.
