How do I find work that doesn't make me hate myself?

Absolutely. To further prove the point, I graduated with a degree in chemistry in 2010*. When I started school I had no intention of joining the laundromat business, and yet here I am. At the time it was just a weekend gig and some work during the summers, and then I'd go back to school...

How do I find work that doesn't make me hate myself?

This is going to sound kind of ridiculous but it's true: I've found fulfillment in operating laundromats. No really! It's the family business, sure, but I've helped grow it from one store doing $250k per year and mainly just employing my dad to three locations breaking $1.2m with a team of...

    Portable Battery Pack

The power adapter is most likely going into some kind of power regulator inside the Retron 2. I'm going to guess it's going into a 7805 linear regulator so you'll probably be just fine using a 7.4v li-ion battery pack. Depending on what screen you use, you'll likely be just fine with something...

    Shockslayer leaves for DOTA 2

I'm not dead! Actually, I've gone on to help with the family business and build a successful chain of modern laundromats in northeast Oklahoma. We've got credit card readers on every machine and they even accept Apple Pay and Google Wallet in addition to coins. I'll be a guest speaker at an...

That helps a great deal! I've been itching to start working on something and one of my favorite parts has always been documenting everything so others may learn along with me. Thanks.

    Bluetooth SNES Headphones

That's great! I just started watching Ricepirate's videos this past week! Small world... Did you know him before asking him to voiceover for this project? It just feels right that the buttons are functional. Excellent video! I'd love to see your rig for filming - how did you go about such...

    Zack's NEW Gamecube Portable Worklog

Cool! Thanks for the thorough response! I've got an AG-85 case that's just sitting around. Maybe I could use the laser cutter at the Fab Lab to turn it into something useful. I guess you just used the auto focus feature on the Epilog once you set your "home" position?

    Zack's NEW Gamecube Portable Worklog

I saw your portable on Facebook, and I thought it looked great. Now that I've read your build log, I think it's fantastic! Your soldering and wiring gets cleaner with every update. How did you go about getting the laser cut holes aligned so well on your case?

    First portable - The NESPo!

I love it! I've been itching to make a 3D printed case since I saw Ben Heckendorn's 3D printed and laser cut faceplate portable Raspberry Pi game emulator. Well done, and awesome documentation!

    Hailrazer's PS2 79xxx Motherboard Mod -- Run it as low as 6V

Re: Hailrazer's PS2 79xxx Motherboard Mod -- Run it as low a I've been working on a PS2 slim portable, and although what I have is workable it would be nice to have a smaller PS2 circuit board. Running everything off a 7.4v battery would be more compact as well. Thank you my good sir...

Thanks! You're not missing much, it's just a hour's worth of relocating a cartridge slot. The most exciting stuff is in the first 20 seconds and last 20 seconds. Honestly I was just testing out live broadcasting through YouTube. It was a novel experience.

Trying to keep that post to picture ratio in this work log at least 1:1 like a good gent :tophat: I finished the SNES cartridge slot relocation. Using some thick gauge copper wire for both support and relocation of the cartridge slot. Worked well enough on my SuperBoy SNESp, using the same...

Okay, I haven't posted to this since the end of last year and my post is hardly halfway down the page! Time for some NES/SNES love! It's been six months, and I'm still kicking myself for not having figured out a good design for a dual SNES and NES portable. Well, I decided to travel the tried...
