Re: The UltraPNES worklog. Wow, $10.85 for a can of paint. Well, it seems to have been worth it. I know Krylon Fusion even sucks with some plastics or on top of certain other paints. That might just be worth me looking into.

Nice progress so far. Those look like nice batteries also. At SS, Daftmike, and Drue: How much different is that pinout on a rev 04 board? I traced about half of one and so far they are all the same. Has anyone traced the whole slot on a rev 4?

Sorry to get off topic, but this is probably the longest quote chain I've ever seen. Sort of back on topic, as mentioned before lots of electronics have 7805s in them so old/broken electronics make a nice source for such items.

Re: The UltraPNES worklog. Looking good so far. Why does no one else seem to fill in the recessed areas on the sides of the ZN-40? Nice job on actually using an NES. There aren't nearly as many of those being made these days - all noac stuff.

I use a sponge with warm water to help with the whole hot to cold situation. Even if you start with cold water, the heat from the iron usually makes it warm by the time you've used it much.

I just solved the crap out of mine to wear it down some and then used petroleum jelly. I would use silicone lube but I'm too lazy and poor to go buy some and petroleum jelly was cheaper and more readily available.

I left the boxes black just to give it a two tone look. And it is sort of sold. I'm not actually sure about the sold part.
