I'll follow the suggestions and stick with a VGA screen then.
I might have problems with importing from China but the screen suggested by gman is so cheap it might be worth it even if i have to pay some tax.
thanks, i'll post again once i order the screen!
I think it would get a bit better after bypassing the crappy included AV connector. But it was so bad of a product i don't think it would ever get good enough even for my low standards
Even the sound was crap!
EDIT:
Do you think a 3.5" is big enough for PS2 gaming?
Update
My screen just arrived. Still not tested or disassembled it. Looked at the AV connector cable that comes bundled and it has:
Ground
Left Audio
Right Audio
Composite
So i guess i'll be working with that. I'll test the screen tonight on my other PS2 to see the quality of it before...
It's a ps2 travel pack from a brand called Competition Pro. Just search for ps2 travel pack. There are more than one brand. It cost about £20 shipped from amazon.uk
Thanks! I should have soldered the wires to the inside :cry4:
Update
I just ordered one of these:
It's a very cheap 5.4" screen with speakers and headphone jack. I actually read on benheck forums someone opened up one and it had the same components as the PSOne screen but i highly doubt...
i've seen you write that on gman's topic i think. but i have no idea what chip is in fact the dragon chip. because noob
Can you point me the dragon chip?
Update
So, i've wired an 8mb Sony memory card with FMCB to a IDE cable. Ready to solder on the motherboard. What would be the best way of soldering memory cards on the motherboard? Hotglued to the bottom of the motherboard near the port? Or on the top of the motherboard? I guess the best place...
I can find those but they have 16:9 ratios. I've contacted a seller about a 4.3" screen that lists a 4:3 ratio. But i think it must be a mistake because it also lists a 480 x 272 resolution.
In Portugal they don't care about gifts unfortunately :cry4:
There's cheap 3.5" screens on ebay. But i'm affraid 3.5" will be too small for playing PS2.
I'm looking for pretty much the same thing. A 4:3 screen between 4" and 5.6" size and it has to be in Europe/UK because of import taxes and shipping. It's for a PS2p build. I don't need perfect quality so composite is okay. I've seen some cheap reverse car camera screens but most of them are...
Looking great!
I'm looking for a screen myself but here in Europe it can get pretty expensive to order something from outside Europe/UK. Not just in terms of shipping but also in various taxes. I can find 3.5" screens on ebay but i'm affraid it will be too small! Most of the bigger ones are 16:9.
ahah i'll do the same thing. 128mb on slot 1 and free mcboot card on slot 2 with UlaunchELF, OPL and a Media Player. For those that don't feel like ordering a 128mb card and have smaller ones laying around you can use UlaunchELF to backup savegames to the USB stick.
