Well, I think there is something wrong with the internal degaussing coil. I was able to take a magnet and get the picture near perfect by moving the magnet up and down the screen. There was a bit of discoloring on the sides but other than that perfect, until I unplugged the TV and plugged it...

Find electronic devices that just stopped working all of a sudden and try to fix them, even though you have no idea why they stopped working. You'll be doing a lot of that when messing with the n64.

I can't stand the original backlight on the PSOne/Zenith screen. It makes a really high pitch noise and it hurts a lot when you short it out on your fingers :cry4:

I got a brand new Zenith 5" LCD for $34(-4$ shipping) off of amazon a couple of days ago. I guess it was a pretty good deal.

My iron looks worse than that, but it still works fine. Just make sure to clean the actual tip of the iron and make sure it stays relatively shiny. You want good heat conductivity on the tip.

Is the tip of your iron shiny or dull? It could be poor heat conductivity.

Try thicker wires for power. It worked for me. It won't hurt anything if you do.
