yet another dead screen?

Ok guys so i just searched through all my stuff in the attic and found a ps2 with a screen attached . i could not find a power supply that fit so i took it apart and connected the 12 volts it asks for directly to the pin . No dice
the screen did not light up i then noticed it has a small fuse so obviously i did a temp repair on the fuse holder
and reatached the 12 volts (i used various power supplies ranging from 100Ma to 3 amp )
with the 12v 2.5 amp psu i get a ticking noise from the speakers of the screen but no backlight or anything else
i would love to get this screen working as its a nice size and has RCA in and the ps2 port in . i will add pics soon using my better camera hoping this is a simple issue

I imagine 12v would be fine for a screen like that since that's pretty standard. Did you input a video signal? Some of the common Chinese screens won't turn on at all until they receive a signal.
