Wii in N64 - Nintendo Sixtii4

Was going to become a wii portable but decided to make it into a home console instead.

It's a Wii in a N64 case

Features
Softmodded Wii
Wiikey Fusion instead of disc drive
USB slot for game loading
GC controller 1-4
Internal 64MB Slot A GC memory card
Slot B for homebrews/copying
Sync button hidden in vent hole
Functioning power and reset buttons

Doesn't have the normal Wii SD slot as I ruined it during trimming

Backside - Sensor bar, full video out, USB, standard Wii power plug

Tried to make it with as little casework as possible, making it look as much a stock N64 as possible.

And here's video of it (I speak swedish so you might not understand :p )

Re: Wii in N64

Looks great!

Now, for extra style points, put the Wii power adapter into the N64 power adapter. :awesome:

Re: Wii in N64

Thanks for all the nice comments! :tophat:

I wan't to make a new version as I have some ideas how to improve it... Just have to get my hands on a new N64 case

Re: Wii in N64

It makes zero sense....

therefore I love it just for being different!

Re: Wii in N64

Next time make the GC ports flush with the case so you can use wavebirds.

Hey how does the led thing work?
Iirc positive is shared 12V and ground goes to two resistors just above the original led. I noted it down in a picture, can post it when I get home Sunday.

Will do, have never owned wave birds so didn't know that was needed

Re: Wii in N64

This is actually really cool. You should make a video of it playing N64 VC games .

I don't actually have any vc games, I guess I could try to get an emulator going

Btw, if anyone has a name suggestion, bring them on :)

Here's the picture:

I just soldered together the positive legs of the LED directly to 12V from the power plug. Then each negative LED leg to respective resistor above.

The wii also has a standby led (yellow) but I didn't connect that one. It doesn't work the same way as the other LED (having common V+ and different GND).

I can also add that my red LED is much dimmer than the green one. Also when I turn off the wii the red LED doesn't come on directly. I don't know if this is cause of my trim or because the LED values are wrong.
