The afternoon projects thread

Basement_Modder

He who mods in thy basement.
We have one at benheck, why not here?

RULES

1. Keep it relevant.
Or don't post random spam

2. Afternoon projects only, please.
Anything that took more than a day to do goes elsewhere

Yeah, most of the posts in my thread on benheck are so off topic that sometimes I forget what thread I am reading.

FIRST!!111!!11

Installed McBoot on my PS2's memory card. Now I can run homebrew without swapmagic or a modchip.

And don't worry Bac, a guide will follow ;)

Got it running copied games, not too sure if you want that in the guide though due to legal reasons.

Got bored last night, found a dead laptop in my closet with a DVD burner.
And uh, yeah, figured the right thing to do was to give it a new life.

The DVD Burner that is.
Or, uh, the "burner" part...

HOORAY TERRIBLE CELLPHONE PICS!

And yes, it can do the other usual stuff, lighting matches, cutting electrical tape, etc...
Shame we don't stock AAA batteries in this house, I already killed this pair :p

Are you using a driver board?

I have a BUNCH of red and violet diodes, I wanna make a watch laser using them.

Re-modded a PS1 memory card. Now a much brighter blue LED and nicer job overall. No pics, sorry. It's for sale by the way. Check out my trading thread.

I felt like making a pipe, so I made a pipe.

Tubing from a windchime = fun stuff. I want to add a mouthpiece, but eh. I don't feel like it.

The funny thing is that I don't smoke, and so I don't have any use for this.

I've never seen a crack pipe, so I guess I can't be offended.

You made a pipe... that you will never use... GENIUS!
Is it really any worse than some of the other mods people do? >_>

I suppose if I wanted to, I could sell it to some stoner.

Like making a cord to a n64 controller or changing the LED on a n64 mobo?

Because a pipe has so much more to do with electronics than that.

Lets get this thread back on topic. Here, I'll start:

SNES-Parallel adapter. Made it year or so ago. Allows you to connect up to 5 SNES controllers to you PC via Parallel port. Great for emulators.

Bought an Intec Wii screen for $50 (on sale, came with a free Wii bag too!). Of course, I don't have a Wii. I just wanted a cheap screen. It was supposed to have A/V in but it didn't! So it was modding time.

Finished! Despite what people say about these screens, it's pretty good and it was fun playing N64 on it. It's widescreen and stretches the picture, but it's actually not bad. I'm planning to make an N64 laptop out of it (N64 on the bottom). But I need a cheap N64 first. My dad did the holes for the jacks, that's why they are so nice. It only came with a car adaptor, but I have a 12V power supply (thrift store, $5) so that worked out OK. Anyway, fun.
