Im currently the proccess of doing a custom paint job for a SNES. Its being made to premote a local car club. The plan is to wire LED Ribbons on the inside to glow a cool purple out of the created vents. The question is, can I wire the 12VDC LEDs into the power switch when the SNES has a 10VDC input and is eventually drop down to 5 VDC VCC. Will i have enough power if i wire it into the switch before the regulator drops the voltage? Thanks for all your help. I'll attach a link to a SNES schematic.

That's probably your best bet. Don't put them in series and make sure you have resistor(s) to regulate current. Also I'd wait for someone with more expertise than myself to verify this.
