So the plan is fairly self explanatory, I'm going to turn a Raspberry Pi Model B into a mini laptop/media centre. The planning is 99% done and I plan on buying and starting work next week. Below is a drawing of my plan (very very high res, click the link for full image)

I think that's the lot

Let me know what you think, I still need a name and ideas for a case, both what it will look like and how I can source one.

Time for a quick update, most of the time up to now has been spent learning how to use the Pi and making sure everything is working nicely. I currently have Raspbmc running on the Pi, the SSD hooked up (with 4 seasons of Archer on it <3), WiFi is running, I've had it running off the battery, keyboard is all working, speakers have been stripped and added.
The next step is pulling away all the ports and soldering directly, which will probably take some time.

Here's a (pretty poor unfortunately) photo from a friends phone.

I'll stick another photo up soon, hopefully with a few more pixels...

What about one of those garbage "laptops" for kids as a case? Netbook case? If you don't want much of a bezel around the screen or keyboard, you'll probably have to custom make one.
Those speakers look pretty big, I'm sure you could find smaller ones.

I'm in the process of saving for a CNC router, so the case will probably come from that. The speakers are pretty big, unfortunately audio amps are my biggest weakness, I have a few DS Lite speakers but literally no idea how to go about installing them. Those speakers are about 1" deep, but obviously the smaller the better.
