PSP Home button broke?

I recently acquired a PSP Phat/1000. I got it for a steal cuz the home button doesn't work... I've looked around a bit, but I felt I should come here first before trying anything to crazy. If you have any ideas of what might be causing this, a comment would be appreciated.

Maybe the tact switch is broken? I can't think of anything else, but I'm not the most technical person.

Those switches go out all the time.

Incredibly easy to replace, the lower row of buttons is all a single piece mounted to a strip of metal, with a ribbon cable coming off of it.
I have a few, if you want one, I'd only ask a couple bucks + shipping.

It's Dang small, and you're in Texas, very close, I'm sure it'd only be a few dollars.

BUMP!

Okay, so I ordered one of those bars and plugged it in and still nothing... Only the start button works (just like before). I'm not really sure what to do now... Any suggestions are appreciated.
