Can I save PS1 USA-NTSC games to European PS1 official memory card?

If yes can, Can I still save both PAL and NTSC games to same PS1 memory card?

Same question for PS2 memory card.

Have not have any problems with saving different region games on the same PS1 or PS2 memory card, including same title games from different region.
