I was wondering if a PC WVI would be a normal thing to do.. I already have a wireless controller hooked up to my PC (Its a PS3 controller) and thought that I could use these things:

5.0 inch TFT LCD Module Display with HDMI+VGA+Video AV Driver Controller Board

Tronsmart T1000 Mirror2TV Wireless Display HDMI

12V to 3.7V DC-DC Buck Converter Step Down Module (in order to power PS3 controller as well as the screen)

However, I have a few questions..

1. What battery should I use?

2. Would such a creation be easily sold (Is it practical to have a PC WVI)

3. Am I missing anything Major (aside from battery, I know I don't have that yet)

For batteries, I'd go with a lithium polymer pack from Batteryspace or similar. Li-poly cells are flat, so it makes it easier to integrate them in a design.

Handbuilt stuff of this nature is not reliably easy to sell. If you can do things at a super high level of quality, like Ashen, Zenloc or such, then people pretty much throw money at you. On the other hand, it's not uncommon to see people holding onto their portables because they can't get fair money for them. I think in this particular case, the existence of the nvidia shield will make selling this much harder than it would have been two years ago.

For other stuff, you'd probably need or want an audio amp and speakers and a switching headphone jack, plus a pot or such to give it onboard volume control.

Additionally, in my opinion, a 7" screen would be preferable to a 5". A 7" widescreen is quite a nice size for a handheld device.

I don't think that Mirror2TV thing will do what you want it to do. It sounds like its similar to a Chromecast. I think it only streams videos and music, not games.

I found a 6.5 inch screen that will fit into my WiiU case. Also, miracast mirrors your Pc display.

How would I add sound to this system?
