Case came yesterday ^_^
Its an OKW Enclosures Diatec Medium (Lava Grey) :O
Thing is giant so imma have to trim it down... alot XD
After I find a ruler or a measuring tape im going to start mapping out what'll go where until my uncle gets home with a dremel =)
And if I get bored Ill just use the Jigsaw until the dremel is available haha

Screen hole cut into the plastic casing =) (dont judge, i did it with a jigsaw XD)
PROBLEM THOUGH!!!!
the motherboard of my screen shorted out. <=/ when i get money again ill have to buy another one. (DAMNIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Bought another screen today. Cheaper than the original one but it seems to be the same model so If the LCD comes cracked or something I have another I can use.
HOPEFULLY this one wont short on me >..>

more case work pics! The two long lines on the sides were long raised areas that needed to be removed so the mobo and disc drive would fit.

I forgot to mention the other day my Audio Amplifier came in (TPA6021A4N Stereo Audio Amplifier from TI, free sample of course ;) so after i get paid again im going to buy the bread board, and whatever capacitors, resistors, jacks (might as kill 2 birds with one stone and get a video jack too), speakers, and potentiometers I may need.

It would be better if you make your own board :D

I dont have the stuff to make my own boards <=/
Even if I did I don't know how.
Bread Board on the other hand I can just clip off how much I need, stick whatever I need on it, solder, and call it good.

got a care package from ebay full of PS1s and PS1 (official) controllers ^_^
Went to take apart one of the analouge controllers (non-dualshock) and ended up breaking the circuit board on it cause of a screw I though I took out XD Luckily it didnt go through any important circuits so I can solder it back together.
Imma put it in my mobile cause it will have problems back in the controller casing.
So thats what happening.
Yup.

Weee!!! got my desoldering pump from DealExtreme today ^_^ which also came with the controller im probably going to put in my portable (couldnt fix the sony one <=/). Batteries came as well but I cant solder them to the PCB until I get some flux (yes I have been doing this flax w/o flux Dx).
anyways I used the desoldering pump to help me take the board off the controller/memory card port so I could put in a switch that would switch between internal and external controller. Connected to the ground it should effectively switch between the two controllers fine. I know it cuts the controller currently installed when switched to what will be internal.

What happens when its switched to internal and plugged in external XD

Later today Pix of battery work (gotta go get flux first... my solder doesnt stick to the negative battery terminals XD)

And hopefully running only on batteries =D

Thank you Blaze =) I bought it mostly for the price though.. $5 hahaha
Gotta love thrift stores ;)

For those watching my portable im having battery problems but i promise ill have some pics up after i get it running off the battery. >_< i never thought i would have this much trouble with batteries but hey this is my first right?

Hey there. Just wanted to say thanks for mentioning that case from OKW. It's just what I need for a project I'm planning. I thought I'd searched all the main enclosure manufacturers but somehow missed OKW. Which is weird because I've ordered from them in the past. Anyways, it is PERFECT for my evil purposes. It's oddly hard to find an enclosure that is bigger than most, but not completely enormous. Strange sweet spot I guess. Anyways, thanks!

Edit: Two days later and it has arrived. Nice and quick, especially since I didn't pay anything for it. Dang this thing is huge! But just the right size. The side panel things that pop off were a bit of a puzzle to put back on. Mostly because I had them mixed up. And had a splitting headache and couldn't think straight. But still, interesting case. Should be fun to use. I'm probably going to use the bottom/back part of it as the front with the screen and stuff. It feels really nice in your hands with the way the "front" part (back, in my implementation) curves back. Thanks again for pointing it out.

Your welcome. Glad to have helped ^_\\

Well this project is going on hiatus for a bit.. =\ I need to save up for some good batteries and a smart charger as well as another screen (newest one I got was flax and didnt work at all). And this will probably take a back seat when I do get money to a Bass guitar amp I want to build (get ready for some uber posts in voltage ;). Im probably joining a band here soon and the amp will be more helpful than a portable playstation. Music is more important to me.
