Re: Is this a "user level" maintainable case? GBA SP display That looks like a connection issue. Does it play sound? Can you interact with the game like you normally would? Does it flicker or are those bars constant? My guess is a bad/loose ribbon cable. You'd either have to re-adjust its connection or you may have to replace the screen. Both solutions can be done simply with a philips and tri-wing screwdriver. Have you ever opened up this SP? I suggest some disassembly videos if not.
