Ipad LED mod

Would it be possible to LED mod an Ipad, like a Psone screen? My Ipad screen works but the back light doesn't.

As far as I know, the screen is very thin and glued together. Additionally, just getting the thing open is a project in and of itself. I believe it's already a LED-backlit display, considering my junker laptop has one. So I don't think this mod would work, sorry.
