Has anyone ever made a CDX portable?

I know a while ago Ben Heck tried to make a portable CDX, but im not sure if he ever fully finished it. Using a CDX as a portable would seem to be the ultimate genesis/mega drive portable possible because of how small it is and its inclusion of the sega cd functionality (unlike the nomad which is used in a few portables). The console is expensive, sure, but has anyone else finished one or at least attempted one?

There's been 3 CDX portables that I know of; Segasonicfan made the first one that was unfortunately stolen from his car, Benheck made one on his show, and benheck forums user metallicamanx was close to finishing one, as per a sneak preview in another portable unveiling.

Yeah, the last one looks really good. As little info as there is on the system, there is a lot of potential for an amazing portable here...

Thanks for the info! :awesome:

Are you thinking about making one? BenHeck put up vids of him making the CDXp if you need some more reference.

Apart from that something tells me it's not much more than a model 3 genesis circuit with a model 2 sega CD slapped on the board. Probably would not be hard to find all the connections you need.
