Bought a radica thinking it would be the easiest way to parlay into portabalizing.
I dont know anything about electronics,
I was hoping this project would teach me...you know, the hard way.

Thought I'd introduce myself.

Edit: Radica is now reading games.
Just not Earthworm Jim or SSF2:SCE

The cartridge slot is wayyyyy too snug,
I have to use a pair of pliers to get the game back out.
I need to cut/sand the inside plastic down a bit.

Pics or it didn't happen I guess..

Here's my first radica, I thought i could get it out with just a desoldering iron and some braid.
Guess not.
The next day my psu bench/heatgun/soldering iron station showed up in the mail.
Armed with a heat gun, the rom chip came out in about 30 seconds, cleanly as well.

here is my workspace, showing my reflow station.

Here's the point where I realized i was going to have to orient some wires going the other direction
if they were all going to fit.

Here's when the wires started getting crowded and I first had to apply some tape.

this was about the point where getting at the pads on the board started getting a little frustrating.

more pics to come as I have time and energy to work on it. (may have to wait 'til the weekend)

Was pleasantly suprised to find that all 3 monitors I have, are working perfectly.
I wasnt supplying them enough juice : )
