Is there a way to configure it to say that it has activated the trigger switch beyond a certain threshold, so that one could use more traditional triggers?

I'm not sure that I understood correctly what you meant. Do you mean having a single slider for the trigger and do it in a such way that it acts as an analog trigger up to a certain threshold and then activates the digital trigger?

Why would you want something like that? That's not how triggers are done inside a gamecube controller

Because many portablizers have difficulty implementing something like the official triggers, and I figured that the abundance of analog-only triggers would make an option like that potentially viable
