Can you power speakers by stealing voltage?

So, I've started working on an NES portable, nothing too fancy. I promise I've been reading up on how to do this like crazy, but there's something I still don't understand.

Hypothetically, if I had speakers that required 5v to run....would I have to wire it up as part of the whole battery circuit or could I just run a line from the NES mobo (for instance the +5v and Ground lines from the expansion slot)?

The only thing I could think is that the amperage could be wrong, or maybe I'm missing something else?

the batteries supply the amperage needed no matter where they are wired. however you need to put in an audio amp. i used this one. however anyone would work. the speakers themselves are powered through the amp so you only need to power the amp.

I'd say you'd be fine stealing power from the 7805 . I'm not sure if you'd be over-drawing.
