Big Red Tint on 360

My short version; I bought an HDMI to DVI video adapter from Amazon to get my video signal for an upcoming project. When I plug it into the DVI port on my monitor there is a big red tint on the edge going inward. And instead of a black screen when something loads, it's completely red.

I plugged it into another monitor, and there was no tint, but instead a bunch of red pixels around the screen. The monitor works, so they're not stuck. It also wouldn't range a resolution between 640x480, while the original monitor handeld up to 1024x768 just fine.

    Any ideas?

    Bad cable?

No, the cable is fine. I think it's the adapter.

Considering it only cost $2.40, I'm not surprised.

Okay, so good news: it's not the adapter
Bad news: it's the female port on the monitor.

Nothing too serious just take it apart and reconnect the pin the was broken or bent.
