Amp's power wires solder to ps2?

Hey, guys
My headphone jack mod for my ps2p is going well,
But I'm stuck with one question, through.

For wiring my amp's power wires (the BATT +/-) that power the amp from a small blue battery thing, this can also be used when hooked up to the system, so it can be powered by the system, GC or ps2 etc.

But, where do I solder the amp's wires to? The ps2 board? Or where the power jack for getting power into the ps2? It has the power wires, red and black.

Thanx. :)

I don't exactly get what you are saying
what do you mean by amp wires?
do you mean the wires at connect the battery (of the amp) to the amp?
If this is the case what voltage does the amp run at?
if around 3.3v there are spots around the ps2 motherboard
if around 5v there is one spot where the av port is.

Um, sorry for not being clear, :( , my bad.
Um what I meant was the audio amp's wires which connect the amp to power,
The BATT +/- ones like in my pic here:

Yeah, those ones can be attached to the system and be powered by the system instead of the blue battery thing, oh the amp runs on 5v. I checked the amp's manual and it said it's 5v for the battery.

Um, so which of the above two points on the ps2 board do I solder the batt +/- wires of my amp to?

I'm using a ps2 7900x series board. A pic of the ps2 board and which I should solder the wires to would help me out a lot as I would know exactly where to solder and such. :)

Solder the positive of the amp to the red dot
And negative or ground to any of the black points or any of the copper area

Thanx for the help & diagram, Darkslayer :)
This will help me out a lot.

Hay Darkslayer, thanx for your help on the ps2 amp wiring, um I have another question,
For the fan wires, like in this pic, which wire of the two ones of the fan is postive?
I have a hard time trying to figure out which one is postive of the two :(.

I wouldn't want to solder the wrong wire by mistake.

huh?
did you remove the fan port or something?
if you didn't there really shouldn't a need to remove it.
anyway is it the existing original ps2 slim fan?
what are the wire colors?
the black wire is ground..

I had a question about your portable
do you have a way for the ps2 system to auto turn on when you turn on the batterys?
with out pressing the reset switch?
(nothing to do with the fan thing I just cant find a way to do it)
edit where did you get the amp links?

um, yeah i had to remove the fan's wires to test the system to see if the buzzing sound that i had on my headphone jack was caused by the fan, but it wasn't the fan actually after testing.

also, i did a bit of digging around the net to find out about the fan's wires which is which, and i found that the place where my fan's wires were soldered to was the usb port, one of them, um the wire colors are both gray, no red or black.

so, knowing that the two fan wires are soldered on the usb pins, i found this pic from another modder on bacteria forums which pin is positive and which for negative.

also is this wiring for the usb port correct? if so, then positive is the last pin and negative is the top like in the modder's pic here:

i figured it out, and it works out great :)

um for my portable i don't have a reset switch, no batts ether, just wall power, um my system turns on when i press the Tact switch that powers the system,
the fan I'm using is a Macbook one.

for my amp, I'm using a X-Mini Capsule 1.1 i got for 17.90 Euro at Public, you can also find this amp on amazon.com or uk or where ever, it's simply fantastic!

for the price it is at is great and the fact that you can take it and mod it very early to have a headphone jack, extend the spacer, and vole numb and use it for a ps2 or GC is great :) I'm using the same amp for my Gamecube portable and it works fanatically :)
