I've got a spare 360 and a nice new monitor, I think I'll make something nice out of it. It's a jasper elite 360, with a nice 120 gig hdd and all. Nifty! 1360x768 19" Calypso monitor. It's really vibrant and nice It's going to just be a rectangular prism, nothing fancy. Going to be painted white or black. It'll have all the normal ports, built in wifi and all that jazz. WORKLOG TIME I took the faceplate off my 360. I saw a warranty sticker. FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
EYYURG UPDATE I TOOK flax APART AFTER CUTTING THE WARRANTY STICKER, I TOTALLY OPENED THE CASE WITH A PAIR OF SCISSORS TO JAM INTO THE BACK GOT A TORX 10 TO TAKE THE TOP METAL THING OFF AND USED FLATHEADS FOR THE REST THOSE CHIP SMASHERS ARE SegaING *Can'tSayThisOnTV*ERS BUT I GOT THEM ALL WITH MY WRENCH AND PISTOL GOT THE MOTHERBOARD LOOSE AND TOOK OF THAT PLASTIC BRACKET THAT'S MY GAMERTAG AND AVATAR, SegaES DON'T MIND THE GAMES THAT SHOW UP THERE, IT'S FOR WHEN MY FRIENDS COME OVER OR SOMETHING FORZA LOOKS NICE I OPENED THE HARD DRIVE CASE THE FIRST 3 SCREWS CAME OFF EASY WITH A TRIWING, THE LAST ONE STRIPPED ITSELF *Can'tSayThisOnTV*ING MICROSOFT CAN'T STOP ME, I JUST RIPPED THE flax APART Maybe I'll get something other than disassembling things done at some point. From the looks of it, I'll also be able to fit a 175w psu in there!(maybe not useful with the smaller cable length, though. A 175w has enough power to power the screen and monitor, I just hope the monitor runs off 12v) Should I keep some cable in there or take the time to rewire the hdmi/dvi connection?(or use vga?) Oh yeah, need reccomendations for some cheap, good materials to build to case with. Also, would anyone care to trade my sundriver for one of the newer usb wifi dongle things? I'm just borrowing one from a friend right now and I need it for the final thing.
Bamp COOLING HUEG PICTURE flaxty phone picture, just to show how big it is. IT'S AN ENCLOSED 14MM FAN, NOT SURE IF IT'LL COOL THE GPU CONSIDERING THERE'S NO HEATSINK OTHER THAN THE ALUMINUM ENCLOSURE Size comparison, it's just about the same size as a Wii.
BAD *Can'tSayThisOnTV*ING IDEA! It's much better to have a heatsink and smaller fan. Having no heatsink at all will probably kill the GPU, regardless of airflow.
It prevents a need for fans on the GPU, plus means that I can have air coming out the sides and in from the back. The way I want to mount the motherboard, the stock fans would be at the bottom.(Not good)
It's going to be massive and thick if you do that. Why not smaller PCI slot fans, small fans mounted on the sides, or crossflow fans? I don't really understand your overall plan though, so enlighten me.
Alright, I'll look into the iceberqs. (I hope they're thin; Edit: HOLY *Can'tSayThisOnTV*, 1.5cm THICK) As a design change, I think the thing'll have a stand to make it act more like a monitor if I have to. (Ya know, for cooling out the back and such) So, the iceberq 4s: They intake from one side and output with no need for ventilation out the top?
I JUST REMEMBERED THAT THIS EXISTED. SAM, I WANT THOSE PRICES ALREADY. IT'S BEEN HOW MANY MONTHS NOW?
Oh god, it's been a long time since I've worked on this. Finally got myself a Coolrunner though, which means I can ditch the DVD drive and slim things down a whole lot. And then I accidentally got rid of a small surface mount resistor that I'll need to replace before I can finish. Other than that though, things are looking good. I've almost finished wiring up my LPT nand read/flashing cable, but I'm missing a diode that I'll be buying later. http://i.imgur.com/A6yXP.jpg http://i.imgur.com/QY2ri.jpg http://i.imgur.com/IYRzn.jpg http://i.imgur.com/BUM39.jpg http://i.imgur.com/y0Pv6.jpg http://i.imgur.com/mX8oh.jpg Still need a way to mount this. http://i.imgur.com/1vgfO.jpg
